Diesel Prices

A member asked about Diesel Fuel Prices. Are there web sources that can help to budget diesel costs for the coming year?

I have found the Energy Information Agency reports to be very helpful. The closest report that I can find for diesel is the weekly petroleum report:

The latter of these has a weekly diesel fuel price update in a chart in the upper left. Hover on the Diesel Fuel link and you will see a graph comparing current to a running average.

NYMEX makes a market in Diesel futures which may help you with budgeting. You can find these contracts at the following location: http://www.nymex.com/LU_spec.aspx

Click on the current session link and you can see the next several month’s settlements.
