MACNY STATEMENT ON GOVERNOR CUOMO’S STATE OF THE STATE ADDRESS IN SYRACUSE, JANUARY 11, 2017

Statement below attributed to MACNY President & CEO Randy Wolken:

“Today’s State of the State address delivered many promising messages and opportunities for growth within New York State.  Focusing on American made products, cluster development in high tech and growing industries such as drones, solar and nano, and improving and enhancing our region’s modes of transportation through airport revitalization and Uber are just a few of the many economic development incentives that Governor Cuomo pledged to work on in this upcoming year. MACNY and the Manufacturers Alliance are supportive of these efforts to grow advanced manufacturing in New York State.

MACNY and the Manufacturers Alliance remain committed to lowering the cost of doing business and smart investments as being the best ways to create a more friendly business climate. We are hopeful that alongside these economic development initiatives, we will also see efforts in reducing taxes and regulations on businesses that can allow for these initiatives to be successful.  In addition to supporting these economic investment efforts, we will continue to support the elimination of 18-a, creating a manufacturing investment program and other business cost reductions to be implemented in the 2017 legislative session.”
