Plant Engineers Council: CHA Energy Event

October 19, 2017 @ 4:00 pm UTC-4

Energy consumption is often a large portion of a facility’s business expenditure. Many businesses implement projects with obvious energy savings, but often miss the big picture by failing to create a sustainable energy efficiency plan. By adopting a systematic approach of energy management, facilities can establish systems and processes that will lead to long-term meaningful reduction in energy consumption. A successful Energy Management program will result in energy cost reduction, enhance company image, and drive energy-minded culture in an organization.

CHA will deliver a presentation and lead a discussion that will outline the key elements of an Energy Management plan, methods of championing and “selling” energy improvement projects to management, and ways to address barriers such as corporate structure, culture, and available capital. There will be an overview of several programs and some guidelines that are available for structuring an Energy Management program, such as ISO 50001, and NYSERDA’s Strategic Energy Management and On-Site Energy Manager pilot programs.

NYSERDA and National Grid will provide follow-up presentations outlining the available programs that can support Energy Management initiatives.

The presenters are:
• Ryan Voorhees, PE, CEM – Project Manager at CHA Consulting, Syracuse, NY
• Stacey Sabo – Senior Project Manager at NYSERDA, Buffalo, NY
• TBD – National Grid
