Presenters

Jim Shea-Cyber Defense Institute:

  • Jim is the founder and CEO of the Cyber Defense Institute, Inc. an organization that provides cyber security compliance audits (HIPAA, PCI, FISMA, ISO, DoD, etc), security policies, risk assessments, penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, training and remediation services for the manufacturing, healthcare, insurance, and corporate sectors. Jim was the founder and Director of the Center for Business Information Technologies (CBIT) at Syracuse University where he spent 15 years developing and managing information technology (IT) training and certification programs. Jim holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology Management from Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies and he has completed his coursework for a PhD in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation at Syracuse University. He has over 30 years of IT experience and ten years of cyber security experience.

Doug McRae Esq.-Bond Schoeneck & King:

  • Douglas M. McRae, Esq., is Senior Counsel with the law firm of Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, concentrating his practice in trial and appellate-level litigation. Mr. McRae graduated summa cum laude from Albany Law School in 2004, and is based in the Oswego Office of Bond, where he oversees the civil litigation; including contract and business disputes, medical malpractice, personal injury and products liability cases (both plaintiff and defense work), restrictive covenants and employment claims, replevin and foreclosure actions, and easement and property disputes. Mr. McRae is admitted to practice law in the New York State and Federal Courts, and is also a member of Bond’s Cybersecurity Practice, advising business clients on regulations and requirements pertaining to cybersecurity and information breaches. In addition to presenting at Continuing Legal Education seminars, Mr. McRae is also on the Executive Boards of the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County and the United Way of Greater Oswego County.
