They have the opportunity to engage mentors about practical guidance and direction that may not be readily available through their current social environment. A mentor essentially acts as a ‘future life coach’ and can offer students a perspective beyond that of their parents and teachers. By participating in the P-TECH program, mentors create a new outlet for students to realize their full potential so that when things get tough at school or home, they remember their ultimate goal and stay on track.”
