What will the tour involve?
The event flow of each site will vary. However, we will share a general agenda with educators prior to the tour. Each company will provide a short overview of the company and a walk-through of their facility. We have encouraged host companies to also do a hands-on activity to further engage students.

Why does each employer offer different date(s) and times?
National Manufacturing Day is typically held the first Friday of each October. Due to school calendars and employer availability, we are offering multiple dates. Employers signed up based on their operations and staffing.

Which grades can attend?
Some employers have outlined which grade levels can attend for tours. The reasons for this may vary based on desired outreach or company policies.

What are the safety requirements?
Each employer has safety protocols. All students should wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. If safety glasses or ear plugs are required, the employer or MACNY will provide the equipment on site. Please refer to the Best Practices and Safety Guidelines document under “Educator Resources” for additional information.
