Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cost to register?
Employers can participate for free! Click here to register by Friday, January 23, 2026.

How many students will attend?
In the past, approximately 700 students attended. Students attending will include CTE and P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) 11th and 12th graders, and SCSD P-TECH students working towards their associate’s degrees.

What is the event format? Will all students attend at once?
SCSD will transport students to the SRC Arena in large groups. One or two high schools will attend the Career Fair at a time. This will help with a more continuous flow of students throughout the day. SCSD plans to have three rounds of students, with a lunch break in between. Each wave of students will have approximately 80-90 minutes at the event.

Can businesses hire students at this event?
Yes! Students attending will be prepared to interview for open positions. Accommodations are being made on site for students to access the internet to complete job applications.

What is the physical setup for the event?
Each employer will have a standard 6’ table with two chairs. The registration form includes a question about whether your company needs an electrical hookup. Please make sure to indicate your needs. Employers will be arranged by industry. The registration form asks about which industries fit your company. Your response will help determine your organization’s placement.

How will the “speed networking” be set up?
The sessions will include:

    • Introduction (5 min): Explain rules and timing.
    • Networking rounds (20–40 min):
      • Employers stay seated; Students rotate every 2-3 minutes.
    • Wrap-Up (5 min): Encourage follow-up and thank participants.

More details/guidelines will be available closer to the event. Please note that there are limited spaces available for companies that would like to participate.

Will there be electrical hookup available?
The registration form includes a question about whether your company needs an electrical hookup. Please make sure to bring an extension cord in case you need it.

Will WiFi be available?
Employers will have free access to WiFi through the SRC Arena network. Specific directions will be sent to employers in the confirmation emails closer to the event date.

Do you have any advice for our company on how to connect with students attending the fair?
We are strongly encouraging employers to provide demos or hands-on activities for students. For example, trying on safety gear, a trivia or myth busting game, a STEM challenge, or a selfie station. Since this is the first career fair for most of the students, interactive opportunities foster meaningful engagement. It also makes it more enjoyable for everyone! We are here to help you brainstorm ideas if needed!

What CTE programs does SCSD offer?
SCSD offers more than 35 career and technical educational programs. Click here to learn more.

Will I receive a confirmation of registration and additional event details?
We will send final details approximately a week before the event. However, if your company chooses to participate in the “speed networking”, we will share more details sooner. You are welcome to reach out with any questions before then!

Will food be provided?
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided for all employers. The registration form provides an opportunity for employers to provide any information on dietary needs or allergies.

Where do we park?
Free parking will be available behind the SRC Arena in Lots 10, 11, or 12.
