Building Tomorrow, Together
Randy Wolken, President & CEO
Last night, we celebrated the power of partnership and ingenuity that drives our manufacturing community forward at MACNY’s 112th Annual Celebration of Manufacturing. MACNY has been proudly serving manufacturers for well over a century. Our team could not be prouder of what we’ve built together with you, our members, as we look forward to a promising future ahead.
As part of the celebration, we inducted the newest member of MACNY’s Wall of Fame; Graham Brodock, President of Kris-Tech Wire. Our Wall of Fame recognizes leaders in manufacturing who have displayed exceptional vision and leadership as well as achievement in the areas of company success and community stewardship. We also honored our 2025 Innovator of the Year Award recipient, Dr. Yan Liu, Director of Global Research and Development (R&D) at Indium Corporation. This award recognizes innovative individuals whose forward-thinking ideas are integral to the success of local manufacturers.
As part of the Annual Celebration, I outlined the exciting future of manufacturing within our community and state. It has been more than a century since we last witnessed such massive investment and growth in the manufacturing sector. We’re in the early stages of a new renaissance of high-tech manufacturing that will grow significantly over the next two decades. MACNY is preparing to support efforts to realize this critical development.
The past year was one of our best yet; it was a year of incredible growth and achievement for MACNY and our members, who are the reason behind everything we do. I wanted to take this opportunity to share a few highlights. Our advocacy efforts remained strong as we continued to be New York State’s most influential voice for manufacturing at the state and federal levels. Our popular training and service offerings have seen a boost in variety, participation, and delivery methods. This fiscal year, we served thousands of individuals and hundreds of companies and provided nearly 200 educational, training, and networking events. Our Manufacturers Intermediary Apprenticeship Program (MIAP) is nationally recognized and continues to be successful with our state-wide Alliance partners. The program now has over 1,500 Registered Apprenticeships across the state. Partners for Education & Business, Inc. (PEB) shared in our success this year, serving thousands of future manufacturing, healthcare, and technology students and bringing awareness to the exciting jobs available to them at our member companies.
For the coming year, we have many new initiatives planned. Our team will continue to expand our services, help you fill open positions, enhance our training and apprenticeship offerings, and advocate for wise public policy that enables you and your companies to grow. We couldn’t be more excited about working with all of you as we continue Building Tomorrow, Together.
