Manufacturers Alliance Statement on the 2017 – 2018 New York State Legislative Session: Positive Changes in Business Policy Made
Syracuse, NY– Today The Manufacturers Alliance of New York State released their statement on the end of the 2017-2018 New York State legislative session. MACNY and Manufacturers Alliance President & CEO Randy Wolken stated:
“This year allowed for meaningful policy reform, beginning with the passage of improvements within workers compensation and Apprenticeship program support within the State budget. The passage of the Buy American Act at the end of session acts as a significant stepping stone and allows for continued dialogue on both the State and Federal level to determine how we can grow American manufacturing. Buying American and balanced trade remain top priorities for our manufacturing sector and better policy will continue to strengthen our nation’s ability to remain globally competitive.
While we are pleased to see progress in many of our areas of focus, we know that more work needs to be done and we remain committed to doing even more to enhance manufacturing and business growth in New York State. We look forward to working with our representatives throughout the remainder of the year and into the next legislative sessions on creating a better business climate.”
