Manufacturing Days 2023
Randy Wolken, President & CEO

As a collective team, MACNY and Partners for Education & Business, Inc. (PEB) focus on achieving three goals throughout the year:

  • Creating excitement for careers in manufacturing and technology
  • Improving education and skills training
  • Fostering connections between education, the workforce, and employers

MACNY and PEB believe that continued, focused awareness within the schools about manufacturing careers and other career pathways is critical to maintaining Upstate New York’s (and all of New York State’s) economic vitality.

We are excited to celebrate another Manufacturing Day and Manufacturing Month here in New York State this month. Throughout the month of October, we will engage with students, teachers, business leaders, career coaches, and community leaders through events focused on promising careers in technology and manufacturing.

One of the most effective ways to recruit and retain a skilled and ready workforce is to engage students at an early age. A career in manufacturing can result in a lifetime of success for anyone who considers and pursues one. High-paying, plentiful, engaging, and long-term careers are available in the technology and manufacturing sectors for those seeking them. We are pleased to be hosting students so they can learn about the many benefits that await them in a career in manufacturing. On October 5th and 6th, at 11 separate locations, manufacturers will host over 400 students. This is an extension of what we do throughout the year at many member companies. We uniquely bring together different groups of students, teachers, and community members to educate and provide awareness of the many benefits of a career path in manufacturing. I think there is no better way to kick off New York State’s official Manufacturing Month than with this fantastic annual event!

I also want to take this opportunity to thank the many local manufacturing companies who share in our collective vision and are participating not only today but throughout the year in our efforts to engage local students. If your company is not yet actively engaged, now is the time to do so. You can join over 100 companies that get involved by volunteering their time, talent, or resources. Learn more at macny.org/peb or contact Taylor Hodge, Director of PEB, at [email protected] for more information.

Without you and your dedicated employees, our mission and everyday efforts would not be possible. Thank you for helping us build tomorrow’s workforce today!
