ITC P-TECH sophomores worked with their career coaches in January as they battled to create a roller coaster with at least 1 loop while travelling as slowly as possible without stopping. This project provided the students with the opportunity to utilize the following skills:
- Cycle of building, testing, observing and revision
- Basic understanding of Potential and Kinetic energy, Momentum, and Centripetal Force
There were two first place winning teams that achieved their goal with a travel time of 7.5 seconds!
Many thanks to Career Coaches Casey Driscoll, HSM Packaging; Mike Fabery, United Radio; Karl Hauenstein, Young & Franklin; Doug Nolan, Community Advocate; Cindy Oehmigen, MACNY; Jamie Plumley, Darco Manufacturing; Steve Schill, INFICON; Daniel Sopchak, Community Advocate; and Dan Herrling, SRCTec.
