MACNY advocacy.

Election Day is just around the corner (Tuesday, 11/5)! There has been a change to an employer’s obligation to provide time off to employees so they have the opportunity to vote. The law has increased the amount of time off – with pay – from two hours to three hours.

The new law strikes the pre-existing criteria that such time off, with pay, is available only when an employee does not have sufficient time outside their working hours to vote.

Please find the revised Election Day flyer from New York State here. Employers are required to post this notice ten days prior to an election.
