I’m originally from Senegal and currently living in Syracuse, New York. In addition to my role as a Workforce Development Specialist for Partners for Education and Business at MACNY—The Manufacturers Association, and I am also a Central New York Community Advocate and Organizer. I am passionate about uplifting underrepresented communities, bringing hope back into their lives by promoting equal opportunity and fostering economic empowerment. I hold a Master of Arts in Pan-African Studies from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in History and Literature from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar.
Previously, I was a Research and Teaching Assistant in the Department of African American Studies at Syracuse University and served as a Guest Lead Editor for the International Journal of African Studies.
Most recently, I was a Job Coach for the Office for New Americans at Interfaith Works, overseeing the Professional Pathways Program for Highly Skilled Immigrants. My role included recruiting candidates, assisting with employment needs and job placements, and building partnerships with employers and community organizations to help integrate high-skilled immigrants into the local economy in Central New York.
